Healing For Healthcare Professionals Program

Healthcare professionals are a unique and dedicated group of people who spend countless hours tending to the physical and emotional needs of others. They rely on their education and experience to make quick decisions, often in life or death situations, while remaining compassionate and caring during the most difficult circumstances. The hours are long, and the work is demanding, but they persevere because they care. It is well known that clinicians who care for the critically ill experience stress and grief. As a result, they face a high risk of burnout, moral distress, and compassion fatigue.

About Angela

“Through my yoga practice, I’ve learned how to cultivate balance in my life off the mat.”

Angela’s teaching is grounded in her belief that knowledge of the physical body leads to a deeper understanding of self.  A nurse for 22 years, her knowledge of anatomy and professional experience inform her teaching.  Her classes are intelligently sequenced, and designed to build strength and stability.  Through concise alignment cues and compassionate guidance, Angela seeks to empower students to take charge of their own personal practice.

What People Are Saying

"A class with Angela is like learning from a friend. Not only is the loving kindness of yoga at the root of each practice, she workshops in a way that's not intimidating yet exciting and challenging, inspiring you to give new poses a try. There's also laughter and a don't-be-hard-on-yourself vibe that sets her class apart. She's relatable. There's no pressure, only goodness found here. To practice with Angela is to know a compassionate heart! Unroll your mat to a wonderful experience-I highly recommend as will you!”

Megan Waldrep

"A few years back, I attended a yoga class taught by Angela, as she was at the beginning of her journey as a yoga instructor. This year, I was able to attend two of her special programs, and I am so glad I did it. Whether you are a beginner or experienced yoga student, Angela's unique ability to be precise, technical, and exact on one hand, yet warm and nurturing on the other will enhance your practice and build your confidence. Angela's level of detail in understanding yoga postures is exceptional, as her knowledge of anatomy is supported by her nursing background. The course designed for healthcare providers did resonate with all the students in the class, and we learned techniques geared to de-stress and balance our personal and professional lives.”
